As a bit of a confession, my last post about my mom's graduation was almost entirely written from my iPhone. I don't write this confession as a way to brag or pat myself on the back. I do it to raise a point that I have no excuse to avoid writing.
I can literally post from anywhere, but I don't out of laziness or a lack of ideas. I could have easily posted from my vacation. I decided not to. I think I've earned that right.
Speaking of vacations, I'll be writing all about it in my next post.
With that we're on to the Twitter Machine...
-The Giants not only swept the Dodgers, they worked them like a freaking speed bag #sfgiants
-The Dodgers respond by trading for Adrian Gonzalez and a quarter of a billion dollars in contracts #notatypo
-In the world of poker, this would be called "on tilt." Dodgers are better right now, but those are some horrible contracts.
-I went to training for the RAV4EV last week. I was leery at first, but it is a phenomenal product.
-The girls sing "Are You Sleeping?" but change the words from Brother John to Sister Ana and Sister Grace
-Ana likes to say her name very loudly when you sing it
-Maybe I'm un-American for thinking this, but why all the fuss behind Madden?
-You by a new game every year that basically only offers roster updates. How does this keep making money?
-Jason Priestley is 43 and has settled for doing Old Navy commercials. I feel old and a little disappointed.
-A path of destruction is heading to the American Southeast. Also Hurricane Isaac is touching down. #RNChumor
-Where was Greek yogurt 5 years ago? I feel like the person that pushed Greek yogurt on America is worth millions now.
-His name is probably John Chobani or Greg Oikos or something.
-I feel like Snooki having children should be a stark reminder to men everywhere that alcohol leads to bad decisions #birthcontrol
-So Prince Harry likes to get naked. Who doesn't?
-I think it's very telling that all the news stories on Prince Harry are being reported in Entertainment sections
-Sick kids after a vacation seemed inevitable
-Sick parents is also happening. It's fun in our house right now.
-I think I'm the only person that hates Lance Armstrong. Except the French and his ex-wife and Sheryl Crow and other cyclers. #livewrong
-Neil Armstrong on the other hand was a badass #rip
-We have Amazon Prime and haven't ever streamed a free movie. I feel like we're squandering our potential.
-Ana and Grace literally say "Go Giants!" everytime they see an SF logo #socute #damnstraight #sfgiants
-Erin and her sister watched Something Borrowed the other night. Every character is damn detestable in that movie.
-The MVP isn't awarded in April in the MLB #mattkemp
-The only question I have left for The Office is when will we see Michael Scott again before it ends.
-Our go to food when we don't want to cook: frozen pizza from Costco. Scoff all you want. They are damn delicious. #nom #pizza
-Knocked out a few items from my 30 by 30 list and didn't even realize. Posts to come.
-Fake laughter loses sincerity very quickly. Especially since I'm not the best actor in the world. #arecbarwin #insidejoke #teamamerica
-I am however a beautiful singer. Not just propping myself up. It's kind of true. #fergieandjesus
That's all for now. Vacation post for tomorrow. See you next Tuesday.

Daddy Daughter Days
It's been a long time since I've posted one of these.
I almost don't remember what to even write about...
Oh that's right, my children. My children that enjoyed an entire day indoors thanks to the storm of the century that rolled through our town on Thursday. Well maybe not the century, but it was at least the storm of the month. There was some definite cabin fever involved, but we still made the most of it.
Erin purchased a ham for the sole purpose of making soup out of it. At least that's what I tell myself since I've never really been fond of ham. I can't really explain it. There are just so many other meat choices that I prefer. But Ana seems to like it a lot. I fried up some ham and eggs for breakfast which Ana scarfed down like it was going out of style. Grace boycotted the ham and wanted an English Muffin instead. Just like her dad.
Like I wrote before it rained pretty much non-stop all day on Thursday. The only time it cleared up was when the girls were napping. Just their luck. But the pined for the clouds to break up all day. They did get to hear thunder and see lightning. The looks on their faces when the thunder rumbled around our house were classic.
Ana is obsessed with taking pictures of herself on the iPhone. This is one of seven pictures that she took of herself.
All Grace wanted to do was read. All Ana wanted to do was have a tea party. This is called a compromise.
This was only a portion of their dinner. They had tofu and green beans and other stuff. But they decided that the bowls of cottage cheese were fun and delicious. There are better ways to eat. In fact they are both quite good at using spoons. I actually think they learned this move from me when I drink my milk out of the bowl after eating my cereal.
This one was actually from this morning. I just think it's so adorable that their hair is getting long enough to put bows and such in their hair.
The one thing I didn't get a picture of was Erin after her run. She has been running and working out more and more recently, and I'm so proud of her. In fact she is doing a 5k tomorrow. Basically she is putting me to shame. She has gotten so dedicated that she went out in the pouring rain on Thursday to keep her running streak alive. When she got back she was SOAKED. Like dripping wet. That my friends is dedication.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Twitter Machine Tuesday
There is something about the holidays. I love Thanksgiving. I love turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. It truly is a wonderful combination that really should be prepared more often. Why is it that we don't prepare these types of meals all year round? I can almost always go for turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. It's one of those meals that I cannot get enough of, and I ask why we don't have it more every time Thanksgiving rolls around.
The other reason to love the holidays is that people finally accept pie into their homes instead of blindly eating cake. It is when food preferences actually make sense.
-The most prevalent recipe for the holidays: disaster
-Ana and Grace are now sword fighting with plastic hangers from my closet. I should break it up, but it's too damn funny.
-I can't say this enough: Pentatonix is a freaking lock to win The Sing Off
-Pumpkin pie is great and all. I won't turn it down. But mixed berry or pecan is tough to beat.
-I've eaten well for the last months (brought my weight down by 18lbs), but I'm going to rage on food this week.
-Does it bother anyone else that J.Lo's "performance" at the AMAs was just a FIAT ad?
-I know I'm normally cynical, but I am very excited about The Muppet Movie.
-Another great result of the holiday season: Pumpkin everything. Breads, muffins, cookies, pies, etc.
-So NFL and NBA lock out, and MLB throws a labor agreement together with no issues? #learnedfromtheirmistakes
-I hate David Stern. I hate the NBA owners. I hate the players. Great PR guys.
-When was the last time that the games on Thanksgiving have been worth watching?
-So Chuck Norris and Van Damme are going to be in The Expendables 2 a.k.a. best fucking idea ever
-Young Adult looks like it could be a very funny movie. And it has Charlize Theron #bonus
-We have a "No Christmas unitl after Thanksgiving" rule in our house. Lights going up this weekend. #obviously
-When it comes to Twilight I'm Team Stay Home And Watch Something Better
-Why the hell is Jenny McCarthy using Match.com? Remember your roots #singledout #mtv
-I logged some time with Hey Dude the other day. Jesus that show was terrible.
-The Dark Knight Rises takes place 8 years after the last movie. That could be interesting.
-And apparently there is an Ender's Game movie in the works. When did this happen?
-New Arrested Development on Netflix makes my heart smile.
-I love Christmas music, but God help you if you play it before I've had my Thanksgiving dinner.
-Guinness Black Lager is phenomenal. I hope they make it a permanent fixture. I'll buy enough to help that happen.
-The girls are now drinking whole cow's milk. I'm tempted to try it with my cereal instead of my normal 1%.
-Grace beat Ana in the first steps department. She took two steps without holding the couch.
-Erin says it doesn't count because she had no idea she did it, but I call BS on that.
-Grace: Born first. Walked first. Ana: Talked first. It's good to split the firsts.
-I also can't wait for the leftover turkey sandwiches and turkey soup. Leftovers rule.
That's all this week. I'll be wearing some loose pants on Thursday and hoping that my family isn't all stressed out.
